Okay so. I havent check out any of my flist pages yet so the following review is totally of my own account and i have a goldfish memory, we all know this, and some stuff might not be accurate, so feel free to correct me if and when needed alrightey!
So the
Christina Aguilera concert blew me away. Thing is, I didn't follow her B2B tour, so I didn't have any expectations of what was to come other than what
r0cksalt had told me. So now I understand why the tickets were a little expensive. She had her entire set up flown for the Asia Leg as well and we got everything that the US tour received, minus Nasty Boy (i think that's what the title is, lol) because apparently it's a bit raunchy for the Asians. Uhhh, okay. Seriously, organisers or whoever that was responsible in liasing with Xtina's ppl need an update on 'Asian's perceptions of things' these days. We're not that conservative anymore, lol. Still, it's a minor thing to lose out to so that's okay i guess.
The important thing is,
The Legend (this is a name given by her fans, sort of an inside joke, not to mean she's a diva and refers to herself as the legend although she is a diva but a positive diva as opposed to a negative diva so that's okay) came, she
performed,
wowed and
conqured the Indoor Stadium.
The 'problem' i think, is that people are not familar with the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s arena so one might get lost while she was on stage performing current hits with huge, huge mixtures of the past. I mean, you can hardly sing along to Back In The Day or Candyman or Understand but you can appreciate the music and the performances. Compare that to Oh Mother, Hurt, Lady Marmalade, Beautiful and Fighter...now those...
So, i shall officially declare:
Oh Mother as the performance that
reduced me to tears and got me goosebumps. While she was sitting there belting the song out, a lot of things came to my mind. It's a tricky relationship, that. I was looking at the video that was playing while she was singing it (i know i know...yanas, wtf were you doing looking at hte video? the legend is there and she's singing and looking all hot! Dean does not approve!) and how through hard times, daughter and mother stick together and pull through. it made their relationship stronger, it made her appreciate her mom more and you can tell just how much respect she has for her because isnt this like, the 2nd song dedicated to her mom? And then i thought, wow, isnt she lucky to have that relationship with her mom? And then there're kids out there whose mother wouldnt even bother if the kid lives or dies, didn't say how proud she was when the kid comes back home with a good score. You know, there are mothers like that in the world, and if you're now shaking your head going 'no, moms could be bitches sometime but at the end of the day, they love you' then i say you're one lucky person to still believe in that. And then there're people like me. Got me thinking about my mom. How lucky I am to have her. How frustrated she makes me feel most of the time and how i think i frustrates her most of hers. And here is Christina, the diva herself, going 'I love you mom'. It just do something to your heart, you know?
Hurt as the performance that
gave me goosebumps too.
because you know, we totally got a much better Hurt performance than those people at the Grammy does. Or was it MTV awards? Cant remember...but she was sick and even then i thought she was brilliant but having being there in person to witness this performance? Huge deal okay.
Ain't No Other Man as the performance that j
ump start everything.
So you know that very last seconds when a concert is about to start and you feel the adrenaline finally rushing in and your heart is beating so fast and you wonder why are you trembling and going crazy? Yeah well, when you see her for the first time on top of those stairs and she was striking a pose and then suddenly she went all 'yyeeaaahhhhhhh ooohhhhh' thingy? You can't help it at all okay? You
cant help the fangirling.
Candyman or the performance
that got Yana jumping in her seats and reduced to a girl.
Dude..4 hot
most likely gay guys were dancing to Candyman and you cant help but want to go right to their faces and do those sailorman salute and flash your boobs at them
which is okay i guess cause they'd probably just go no thanks, i prefer dicks anyway and then proceeded to flihg you off the stage because hello, they're dancing here people!
Welcome - the one where
yana was transported to an old skool circus and there were
wheels and
fires and
man on stilts and women on
swings and
Lily was going 'where's the elephant!' and suzi and I totally fangirled because the
wheel of death made it to Singapore!!!
Stilly Dirrttyyy Where we all looked at
m_i_a_s_m_a and go 'dude...it's dirrrttyy' and watched
m_i_a_s_m_a fangirled as much. the only thing lacking is for the girl to actually stand up and do the squat dance (i really dont know how to describe it, lol). perhaps one day...*rubs chin*
Makes Me Wanna PrayOkay, i really cant remember when those circus thing happened. I'm thinking MMWP comes right after that and to be quite honest, i was a little dazed during this performance. I was kind of zoning out and thinking wow, i cant believe im right here and im still sitting down and my throat's not hurting and i'm not dancing and she's going crazy on stage and what the fuck are we doing still sitting on our ass?
Cant Hold Us DownSeriously, when did this happen???!!!! *is not happy*Lady Marmaladewow it got the crowd getting up from their seats that's for sure. We didnt though. And the two bitches in front of us did. And
r0cksalt totally yelled for them to sit down
. Lily went a step ahead and tapped the shoulder of the bitches' brother in law and told him to tell the bitches to sit like the good dogs they are. They got owned man. So bad. I love it.
Also, Lily going 'MORE MORE MOOOOOOORRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEE' and totally being out of tune served as a good laughing topic after the concert.
Beautifulokay so LM got the crowd going but Beautiful got the crowd
singing and that, that was all kinds of awesome. We swayed our arms to the left and right (for the first time during the concert and Beautiful was the first encore so that says a lot abt how boring the crowd was in general) and sang at the top of our lungs WE ARE BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY WORDS CANT BRING US DOWNNNNNNNNNNN....
FighterThe sucky part about knowing what the last song would be is that...i truly cant find myself enjoying the last song because i know what was to come and i was just...i dont know...sitting there and going 'wow, it's over? what the fuck?' and then snapping out of it and thinking 'okay last chance, take everything in!' so i did. She was awesome, the sets were excellent and this review will not be complete if i didnt mention this -
she's friggin beautiful, up close and all and so damn hot. i'd say i'd go lesbian for her, but im too straight and too horny and she just doesnt have the right equipment for me to go
HELLO!
I'm missing a couple of songs but im also at work and im trying okay? and anyway, im sure suzi will do better than this since she's the hardcore one. i bet i confused some of these performance so like i said earlier, feel free to correct me wokies!
$190 is so friggin worth it!
Also, i had a lot of fun with
r0cksalt
m_i_a_s_m_a and cousin
Alyssa. Good company overrides everything else and these girls totally made the whole experience even awesomer than it should. I managed to text
Tesh a few seconds before the concert began just to wish her a good time and i bet she did (2nd row baby! lucky biatch! lol) and then after the concert, we met up with
Liza and her friend whom i forgot her name right now and talked abt the concert a little before we left.
After saying goodbye to cousin lily, we made our way to harbour front and had our late late dinner. or 2nd dinner lol...talked abt the concert some more and then left for home.
So next,
TAKE THAT please!
